New York State recently passed Timothy’s Law which is good news for individuals suffering from an eating disorder. Previously, many insurance companies did not cover Partial Hospitalization or Outpatient treatment for eating disorders.
With the passage of Timothy’s law, chances of insurance coverage have greatly increased. The CEO of Avalon took the initiative to meet with various government representatives to inform them about the devastating effects of eating disorders and was one of the first to take an active role in advocating for Timothy’s Law. He is pleased that more patients will now be able to get the treatment they need.
